ACTIVITIES

The Laboratory will serve the research needs (conducting both basic and applied research) as well as other relevant requirements of the Department of Digital Arts and Cinema, as follows:

  1. Conducting basic and applied research in its fields of expertise, aiming at the development of new knowledge and the acquisition of technical know-how, both at a theoretical and experimental/applied level.
  2. Collaboration, following a decision of the competent body of the Higher Education Institution (HEI), with universities in Greece, recognized institutions abroad, and research and technological organizations in Greece and abroad, provided that their scientific objectives align or are related to those of the laboratory.
  3. Securing resources and funding sources to strengthen research in the laboratory’s areas of activity.
  4. Contributing to the development of new, modern, and attractive undergraduate and postgraduate study programs of the academic unit to which it belongs, as well as upgrading existing ones, within the scope of the laboratory’s fields of expertise.
  5. Providing scientific and specialized consulting services to third parties (individuals or legal entities), particularly through expert opinions and studies.
  6. Providing specialized services to third parties in accordance with applicable legislation and the mission of the HEI, especially to public sector bodies as defined by law.
  7. Undertaking research and development projects/programmes, with financial management handled by the Special Account for Research Funds of the HEI, as well as organizing and delivering training programmes through the Center for Continuing Education and Lifelong Learning of the HEI in the laboratory’s subject areas.
  8. Conducting industrial research within the framework of cooperation agreements with companies or industries in Greece or abroad.
  9. Supporting undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, research, and development needs of the Department in areas related to the laboratory’s activities.
  10. Organizing scientific lectures, seminars, workshops, symposia, conferences, and other academic events, as well as publications and editions, and inviting distinguished Greek and international scholars.
  11. Supporting the preparation of doctoral dissertations.
  12. Transferring know-how from cutting-edge technologies in the production of educational material, supporting and enhancing the connection between high-level research and teaching.
  13. Organizing or participating in events and exhibitions that promote the objectives of the laboratory and the Department.
  14. Special presentations of constructions and applications to support the undergraduate program.
  15. Guiding students in the development of applications within all three cycles of study.
  16. Delivering talks, workshops, and courses in fields supported by the laboratory.
  17. Promoting the laboratory’s work to foster collaborations and partnerships.
